Writing your own website profile is a little like representing yourself in court. You run the risk of playing the fool, but fool I am. This is me:
I have served in Christian Ministry, full and part-time, for a little more than 30 years. Much of that time has been spent in pastoral ministry, though I have also served in Disaster Relief and Mental Health Housing. I currently serve as Senior Pastor at Fairview Avenue BIC Church (FABIC) in Waynesboro, PA.
I’m married to Bonnie, the smart one with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, and we have two lovely daughters, both too smart for their own good. Obviously, they get that from their mother. We’ve lived for more than 25 years in the USA and all of us are dual citizens of Canada and the United States.
Having grown up in the hotel and restaurant business, I love to cook. I put myself through college (the first time) working as an assistant chef in a five-star hotel. I began my professional life as a radio announcer in Northern Ontario, Canada but left radio in 1982 to pursue my calling as pastor.
You’ll see numerous references to skydiving as it was an obsession for a number of years. Along with a ragtag group of rejected mercenaries, scientists, lawyers, automotive executives, and a other assorted riffraff, I was part of the founding membership of the Flying Hellfish skydiving club. I am not now, nor have ever been, a member of Hellfish BASE. Really. I don’t even jump off the bottom step of my front porch. I also love computers, pop culture, post-apocalyptic zombie anything, and writing.
I have written for assorted journals and publications and published half a dozen stories in the Chicken Soup franchise. I’m a very active member of the West Shore Christian Writers’ Fellowship in Mechanicsburg, PA and a founding member of the Inner Core Writers Circle.
